FAQs
What does the overall Welcome Ministry look like?
The Greeters and Ushers are stationed throughout the outside and inside of the church to help direct newcomers and answer any questions. With every handshake, smile and hug they help start the process of fellowship with the family of Calvary Chapel.
What is the specific role of a Greeter?
Greeters distribute bulletins and help direct newcomers to their destination: children / student ministries, the sanctuary, bathrooms, the information table etc... Greeters also oversee the coffee and donut table where they help people make a connection with each other.
What is the specific role of an Usher?
Ushers are stationed in the parking lot and in the sanctuary. In the parking lot, Ushers help guide cars and assist with physical challenges anyone may have. In the sanctuary, Ushers help with seating and the handing out of Bibles, pens and outlines.
What are the qualifications to be a part of this ministry?
Be able to Smile! We do ask that you have a genuine and intimate relationship with God and a servant's heart. Greeters and Ushers are required to be at the church a half an hour prior to the beginning of the service and to remain at their station until 20 minutes after the service begins. You must be punctual and maintain a positive attitude in all situations.
